PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
We believe that the Purpose of Christian Education, just as defined by scholar and biblical thinker Noah Webster, “comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations.” Education is directing of the process of human development toward God’s objective for man: (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We believe that God’s word (the Bible) is the primary source for all learning which gives, foundations, principles of truth from which learners can reason to every subject and area of life. Proverbs 9:10 Our primary goal is to bring a child to the knowledge of God, leading to saving faith and then to help them grow in their faith in Christ. A Christian schoolteacher must therefore be a disciple maker who is responsible for knowing where and how a student is to be led. Guide the student to discover and become what God intends them to be. A teacher must not only be skilled in teaching methods and knowledgeable in his or her subject area, but he or she must also have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, be able to integrate Biblical truth in his or her subject area, and exemplify Christ-like character. We believe that every child is uniquely gifted and talented with different learning abilities. We see that teachers must differentiate their instruction so that they can “bring out” the talents, gifts, and callings in each child. Excellence in academics and other aspects is an Expression of Worship to God. We believe in giving God our best in everything that we do. (Psalm 111:2). We believe in raising up a child holistically and our curriculum is skill-oriented, character bound, child focused and Christ-centered. Therefore, everything taught whether math, science, language arts, social studies, history, music or farming is presented in a biblical perspective.
